Day 30: Denver

Wow, its so hard to believe that we’ve already been gone for a month! And it’s kind of sad that we only have a week and a half left :( the trip has been amazing so far. Thanks again to everyone who helped to make it happen, especially our headlining sponsor, @growthgodfather.

Day 29: Boise to Salt Lake City

So after our ridiculously late arrival last night, I caught up on some much needed sleep while my mom went and got the car fixed up. Luckily, it was a quick (and cheap!) fix and thanks to the guys at Boise muffler we had the car fixed and ready to go in no time!

We got back on the road and headed to Salt Lake City.

When we finally arrived, we just had time to go out and get some dinner. We also went by to check out Temple Square. It was pretty sweet to see it at night, even though the temple itself was closed.

We went back to our hotel and got to bed because we had a super early morning the next day to make it to Denver on time.

Day 28: Seattle

Well, unfortunately today was our last day in Seattle. My mom was “desperate to get her hair dyed” so we went down to a cool part of town called Ballard where she had a hair appointment. I also got an awesome pink hair extension in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. We spent a little time checking out the shops in Ballard and then headed back to the Vintage Park Hotel to pack up and head out.

When we left San Francisco, we started noticing that our car was making a really loud sound (somewhere between what a motorcycle and a 747 would sound like). We had a really long drive to Boise, so we decided we better get the car looked at before we left.

Thankfully, the amazing people at the Kimpton were able to get us a recommendation for a good car place in the area. Also, let me just take a moment to say that everyone at the Kimpton was so nice. The service was great, and absolutely everyone was helpful and excited about our road trip! I want to give a big thanks to everyone, especially Ally the concierge, for making our stay at the Kimpton and our time in Seattle so amazing.

Anyways, we packed up the car and went to get it checked out. It turned out that something was wrong with the muffler, and we needed a new part. They weren’t able to fix it in Seattle, but they assured us that we could safely make it to Boise and get it fixed there. Except for one thing, we had to drive with the windows down so we didn’t get carbon monoxide poisoning. Which was fine, except for the fact that it was pouring down rain and freezing. Hooray!!

Despite our car issues, we headed to Boise. We stopped to get gas just outside of Seattle and we ran into another problem - we accidentally drove away with our gas cap on top of the car, so we lost it. It was quite a stressful experience, but luckily there was an auto parts store really close by so we were able to get a replacement.

After all of these car issues, we got a bit of a late start on our drive to Boise. It ended up being so cold with the widows down that we had to stop and buy some blankets to use in the car. It was totally ridiculous. It was 3am by the time we finally got in to Boise. Overall, definitely the most harrowing drive of the trip so far.

Day 27: Seattle

Ok first I have to start off by saying that our hotel had the most amazing bed I have ever slept it. It was so comfortable, I just wanted to lay in it all day. But sadly I had work to do. But, if you’re ever in Seattle I totally recommend the Kimpton Vinatge Park with their fantabulous beds.

We started off our day with some donuts (how else?) and then decided to stop at Starbucks HQ for some top secret business discussions. Kind of.

Next we stopped at the UPS Store in Seattle to pick up some much needed supplies that we shipped with them. It has been so helpful to be able to get shipments along the trip!

We headed down to the pike place market where we got the best grilled cheese and mac n cheese ever, saw some awesome fish throwers, and of course went to Starbucks.

It was storming like crazy, so we went back to the hotel for some hot tea and sleep.

Day 26: Portland and Seattle

Today was basically what you would expect from Portland - rainy and cloudy. Its ok though. Personally I like the rain. We started off our day by going to check out the Portland Saturday Market. Despite some difficulties actually getting there ( it happened to be the Portland marathon, so tons of streets were closed) it was awesome. And we got to see the most gorgeous flowers ever. Apparently Portland is like the best place ever for growing them. So crazy!

After a quick stop at Starbucks, we went to grab some lunch at por que no? Taqueria. It was super yummy.

Then we got back on the road and headed up to Seattle.

When we got to the city, we checked in to our awesome hotel, the Vintage Park by Kimpton Hotels. It’s a really really nice hotel. Of all of the hotels we’ve stayed in (and we’ve stayed in 19 different hotels so far) this one is probably my most favorite. It definitely meets all of my very particular hotel criteria. And I got an awesome little present from Kimpton :D

We were super tired, so we got s quick dinner and went to bed.

More tomorrow!!
